Location and overall design are nice. We had a very rough time checking in with our toddlers. Check in was very slow after we had been messaging in the app confirming details of our room days in advance. Also no smart TV and pool is out of service. My husband and I stayed one night at El Autor. The hotel itself is beautiful and the staff provide 5 star service. The location on a quiet side street is also a bonus. Claude was very knowledgeable of the area and spent time outlining map of places to go and answered any questions we had during our stay. I would highly recommend this hotel if you are staying in Madrid.
I highly recommend the El Autor Hotel Madrid for travelers who prefer quiet boutique hotels rather than busy palace hotels. The location could not be better, on a quiet street behind the National Legislature. It is as safe of a location as could be due to the 24/7 police presence guarding the legislative building.
