A lovely hotel literally steps from Moncloa metro station. The neighbourhood seemed very safe even late at night. The staff were excellent, very friendly and spoke good English for my friend who is not fluent in Spanish. They were able to answer any of her questions with ease. We booked this hotel specifically because of the rooftop terrace they heavily advertise—guess what? It’s only open three months a year. We paid extra for this hotel solely for that reason.\n\nTo make matters worse, we originally booked a triple room, but due to a change in plans we ended up with four people. Nice rooms and all, but in SUMMER they open the pool only at 11h and close it at 19h (it's very sunny and hot until 21h30) and they won't even let you be in your swimming suit, just relaxing outside of the pool, on the couch or anything.
