The setting was fantastic. The location is central but a little more quiet. A beautiful cafe was located on the historic Plaza outside. On the Sunday we were there, there was a market. The extremely beautiful food court Mercado San Miguel was the neighbor on the opposite side. Just around the corner was a well-equipped store with friendly staff (Dia). Sol and Grand Via can both be reached by foot.
Pull out bed is spoiled, unable to pull out a bed for 1 person to sleep. The bed is from Ikea so I don't know if it's Ikea quality issue or poor maintenance by the hotel operater. Floor is not clean at all when they claim the apartment was cleaned up in the afternoon. Tried contacting the receptionist whom we were told operates 24/7 but there's no answer from their telephone number. Tried WhatsApp
SmartRentals Puerta del sol is right in the middle of main center of Madrid, right next to Mercado de San Miguel and plaza Mayor. Regarding the rooms - bedroom, bathroom & kitchen are in excellent condition - we were 2 adults & 2 teens and it worked out great.
