It has a boating lake, the Crystal Palace (glass exhibition hall, free), a rose garden that peaks in May-June, a Sunday artisan market by the lake, and 15 km of walking paths. Metro access: Retiro (L9) from the south gate, Príncipe de Vergara (L9) from the east.

Jerónimojs (west of the park, between Retiro and the Prado) is the most directly park-adjacent option and puts you within 10 minutes of both the Prado and the Reina Sofía. Budget hotels: €90-130.
